As we prepare to reopen the gym, we wanted to share our action plan to keep our gymnasts, their families and our staff safe. We’d ask that you fully support these efforts. Failure to comply could not only jeopardize everyone’s health but also our ability to stay open.
To keep our students and employees safe and healthy, we ask that you keep your child home if he/she exhibits any symptoms or is not feeling “well.” If you are ill, or someone in your family is ill, please stay home.
You will line up outside the front door on/beside markers placed 6 feet apart. Please arrive no more than five minutes prior to your class. Your athlete will be provided with hand sanitizer upon arrival and departure. Once in the building, your athlete will stand on a designated marker until class begins. At the end of class, students will line up at the BACK DOOR for dismissal.
In the event of inclement weather, your gymnast should remain in your vehicle with you and a member of our staff will come to your car and advise you when she can come to the front door.
Bathrooms will be monitored to ensure physical distancing. We ask that you use the restroom and wash your hands before coming to the facility.
Common Area/ Lobby:
Currently, we are limiting spectators in the lobby area. Physical distancing will be followed upon entry. Families are limited to one parent per child. All viewing will adhere to physical distancing standards. Chairs will be marked and placed over 6 feet apart. Once the available space is full, we will not be able to allow anyone else in the lobby area.
Hand Sanitizing and Temperature Checks:
Each student/parent will be prompted to use hand sanitizer when entering the facility. Staff will administer on site temperature/health checks. All spectators will be required to wear a mask. Due to the nature of the sport, students are not required to wear a mask, as physical distancing will be enforced at all times.
Staff will sanitize all entry and exit surfaces. Pits and water fountains will be closed/covered at this time. All athletes will bring a labeled water bottle for individual use.
Staff will be temperature/health checked upon arrival. They are required to wash or sanitize before and after every class. Masks will be worn by all staff members. Coaches will coach with limited contact, only spotting for safety. All staff members will adhere to the illness policy. Breakrooms are closed at this time.
Staff will sanitize all contact surfaces before and after each class. Students will also wipe down any equipment they use. Sanitizing wipes/disinfectant will be available throughout the facility to wipe down all of the equipment. Athletes will have their own personal equipment that will not be shared (ankle weights, TheraBand, etc). Chalk buckets will not be used at this time.
All classes will be scheduled to safely accommodate the student to facility ratio. Classes will have staggered class time to make sure families can enter and exit the facility without overlap. Class sizes will be reduced at this time.
We will always uphold the student to square footage ratio. We will adhere to the rule of no more than four students per 1,000 feet.
While attending a class/team, athletes are always required to stay at a minimum of 6 feet apart. Markers will be placed on the floor to establish distancing. Teacher to student ratio will be no more than 1:4 for ages 5 and under and 1:6 for ages 6 and up. We will separate students with their own equipment.
Preschool Age Classes:
All classes for kids ages 5 and under will need to have a parent accompany the child in the class. The parent will help in the physical distancing and will aid in spotting and cleaning of equipment. This will also free up space in the lobby.
Class Structure/Phased Return:
Attendance will be taken at every class to facilitate the potential need for contact tracing. Lesson plans will adhere to physical distancing standards. We will limit the number of students in the facility and a phased return will be implemented.
